Sharing power
I had planned on booting from the dvd anyways, so it was not a big deal at the time. I have the full retail version of Vista Ultimate. .... I have tried the Easy Bcd program, and also Vista Boot Pro, but for some reason can't seem to get it to work. Perhaps I am not understanding exactly how to do it.

If it cant read anything using the boot disk, then try it in another Windows PC. One way or the other you know what has gone bad. Do the CD and DVD drives use the same drivers? if so the driver is not the problem. I have opened the computer and checked that all the connectors are OK. TIA Derek.
